If you would like to apply to adopt one of our gorgeous dogs we do have a very strict procedure. Please download the Application Form on this page and return it by email or post.

Once received someone from the Happy Paws team will be in touch for a chat and go though your application - each application is judged fairly with the best interest of the dogs at heart.

Please note we do not re home our dogs with children under the age of 12 years old.  

If the charity would like to take your application forward a home check can then be arranged. This does take a good few days as we will use a volunteer home checking service.

The home check will be completed and a report will be sent through to the charity.

A member of Happy Paws will then call to discuss the content of the report.

All being well the charity will then discuss the dogs we have available who may suit your home situation.

This is a very personal process and every effort is made to match the right dog with the right family ensuring that our dogs have the home they deserve for life.

The whole process can be lengthy but I think you can see from our website and social media pages it's so worth the wait! 

Each of our dogs are health tested, behaviour tested and we look out for any signs of food or toy guarding. In the interest of transparency any issues that are identified are discussed at length.

At Happy Paws HQ we fully appreciate that your experience of taking a rescue dog into your home should be rewarding, uplifting and exciting and we try very hard to ensure you enjoy every moment of it from start to finish.

We are always on hand for a chat to discuss any questions or queries you may have and once you have adopted we are always here for any advice.

We also insist that we get lots of updates on your new addition as that is our reward for all the hard work that goes in to each and every rescue.
