Polly's Story

When we first saw Alfie in this situation there were many tears here at Happy Paws HQ. We just could not believe what we were seeing with our own eyes.

This poor lad was at deaths door. We had no hesitation in putting the wheels in motion to get this lad away to a safe place. We managed to secure his release and then it was all action stations to get this beautiful boy to the Uk.

Alfie's health was not good as he was starved, he had hook worm and was really depressed. But as time went on he started to improve but it was a slow process.

So the hunt was on to find Alfie boy the family of his dreams. We had to wait for a few weeks but then the magic started to happen for Alfie - the most incredible family came forward and once the home check was complete it was all action stations to get our boy on that happy bus.

When Alfie arrived he was thin and still in need of vet care but his family stepped up to the plate and nursed him back to full health.

As a rescuer I was so impressed by his families commitment to him - after weeks of care and many prayers just look at our beautiful boy now.

Nobody would ever think this boy was in serious trouble but angels were on his shoulders and to see him now looking so content, healthy and above all happy to us is simply priceless.

I am so proud of what we as a team can achieve on behalf of these beautiful souls it warms my heart to think dogs like Alfie get their chance at their Happy Ever After.
